How much does Asbern cost?

Nothing. Asbern is free. Every feature is included in every server, and no card is needed.

Do I have to pay for each server?

No. Every server you add Asbern to gets every feature, at no cost.

What happens if I remove the bot from my server?

Nothing is charged and nothing is lost. Add it back whenever you like and its levels, statistics and settings are where you left them.

Can I run Asbern on my own machine instead?

No — the bot itself is hosted by us. The only part that runs on your own machine is the companion app, a free download that connects your own Plex and your own game servers to the bot.

Do you host my Plex library or my game servers?

No. Runs on hardware you already own — we do not host your media or your game servers. Asbern is a remote control for hardware you own: it starts and stops things and reads what is happening, and the files, the machine and its address stay yours. If your machine is off, those features say so rather than pretending.

Do I need Plex or a game server to use Asbern?

No. Every one of those is optional and the bot works fully without them — a feature your server has not set up is shown greyed out with the reason, never hidden and never broken.

What data does Asbern keep about my members?

What it needs to run the features your server switched on — message and voice activity counts, levels, and what people press. It never stores what anybody said, and any member can switch their activity counting off, or erase their record, from the bot itself.

What permissions does Asbern need, and why does its role need to be high up?

It asks for the permissions the features you use need — managing roles and channels, and moderation actions. Discord only lets a bot manage roles BELOW its own, so if Asbern’s role sits at the bottom of your list, anything that hands out a role silently does nothing. The bot tells you where to put it and checks again on one press.
