AFK

AFK works with Discord's own AFK channel — the voice channel Discord moves people into when they sit idle. Asbern sets it up, and Send to AFK moves the people Discord misses, like a phone left in a call, into that same channel.

How it Works

AFK is a door on /menu › General › AFK and on /menu › Community › AFK. Join a voice channel first, then press Send to AFK beside someone in the same voice channel: they are moved into the server's AFK channel. Time in the AFK channel earns no XP and counts towards no statistics.

Setting it Up

An admin sets it up from the AFK row in /menu › Other › Admin › Settings › Setup: pick the server's AFK channel, or let Asbern create one called AFK, and choose how long someone can be idle before Discord moves them — 30 minutes unless the admin changes it. It is Discord's own setting, the same one Discord shows in its own Server Settings. Until the server has an AFK channel, the AFK screen says an admin needs to set one up.

The Limits

• You can send 4 people in any 10 minutes, and one person can be sent 3 times in any hour, by anyone.
• Sending the same person again needs a gap that grows each time — 5, then 15, then 60 minutes — and is forgotten after two hours without a send.
• Someone you sent who walks out of the AFK channel, into a normal channel or by disconnecting, cannot be sent again for 5 minutes.
• Members with an immune role cannot be sent at all, and members with a bypass role (usually staff) skip the limits.

The card shows you the limits that apply to you.

Settings

Every number above, the immune and bypass roles, and whether the target must share your voice channel are set under /menu › Other › Admin › Settings › Setup › All settings, in its AFK group. Its first row switches Send to AFK off, and Complete setup's Access and AFK step shows the same switch; Discord still moves idle members itself.

What it Costs

Nothing. Asbern is free: every feature on this page is included in every server, and no card is needed.
